McCain's Less Than Super Tuesday

Lalita Amos | 05/07/2008 - 15:36

After watching the Democratic election results unto the wee hours of the morning, I thought it would be a good idea (after my second cuppa joe this morming) to check out the results from the GOP.

John McCain has been stumping solo since the rest of the Republican field suspended their campaigns twom months ago and is the presumptive nominee. Thing is, he didn't even get 80% of the vote. This from the Huffington Post:

In Indiana, McCain earned the backing of 78 percent of Republican primary voters, with exited candidates Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney gaining 10 percent and five percent respectively. Congressman Ron Paul, who is still in the race, has received seven percent of the vote.

The numbers were even worse in North Carolina, where McCain won 74 percent of the vote, with Huckabee earning 12 percent, Paul earning seven percent, and four percent of Republican primary goers simply voting "no preference."

...

In Pennsylvania...McCain won 73 percent of the vote, with Paul pulling in 16 and Huckabee 11.

Curious.
