The Impotence of the US being demonstrated in Georgia by Putin

Ray Miller | 08/15/2008 - 14:01

Aside of the right wing hacks joking about Obama being concerned about the safety of Atlanta after the Russians invaded Georgia, we are watching the US to be shown as the paper tiger we have become.

We cannot win a war of ideology against Islamic extremists becuase we continue to feed them recruiting material with the War in Iraq, water boarding, Quantanimo, Abu Ghrab, Iran, etc. etc.

We cannot stop attacks on US targets, WTC 1993, WTC 2001, Marine Barracks in Beirut, the USS Cole, US embassys in Africa, etc. etc.

We have been spent into oblivion, our military has been rode hard and put away wet and W thinks shaking his finger at the man whose "Soul" he saw through his eyes, will give a holy crap?

Russia is re-asserting itself in its sphere of influence. The Monroe Doctrine is alive and well.

Announcing the agreement with Poland for placement of the missile defense shield will only poke the Russian Bear even more so.

I would not be shocked to watch Russia restore its authority over Georgia, the Ukraine, the Baltic state of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus, and on and on.

With cash pouring in from needy Western countries (certainly not really western powers) and controling the flow of oil and natural gas to the EU the Russians have all the cards.

I gues we can point at them and say, "We beat you in the Olympics......nanny nanny boo boo".

A new Cold War is looming and there is no way in hell you could offer me the US presidency with all of the bags of flaming dog doo being handed off from the W debacle.

Is Hillary Clinton a Good Choice for Secretary of State?
Yes. She is knowledgable and has already established good relations with foreign heads of state.

No. Nothing against Hillary, but Bill is a loose canon and would be a constant distraction and/or embarrassment.

Yes. We get two for one: a former President and a knowledgable Secretary of State.

No. Her judgment is flawed, as demonstrated by her vote for the Iraq War.
