This week, CNN launched its Black in America series--a four-hour program that focused on women, families, men, work, religion, crime, health and life. It tried to offer a balanced perspective on being of Black African descent.
As many of you know, CNN will be launching its series "Black in America" on 23 July with its Black Women and Familes program. The second day will focus on Black men.
I've been resisting the rush to eulogize Senator Ted Kennedy, who was diagnosed with a malignant glioma of the left parietal lobe today. He's down, but not out (remember: this is Ted Kennedy, ya'll). But what I will say is that his decades of service continue to challenge us all to work toward, instead of talk about, the things that matter most.

Recently, the Indianapolis Star, New York Times, Indianapolis Business Journal and Wall Street Journal have noted the activities at WellPoint. Most noteworthy is the decline in its stock value following a disappointing earnings prediction from management. It has lost approximately 50% of its value in the last several months.
Last week, the Centers for Disease Control released a study that found that a staggering 3.2 million teenage girls have a sexually transmitted disease--that's 25% of girls between the ages of 13 and 19, kids.
